What a way to end the year...
My ipod died. It refuses to turn on. It was a good 5 years my dear.
My phone is dead too. It hangs. It DOES turn on, but it just keeps on restarting.
I fucked up my knee. I can’t bend my leg. I can’t walk either.
2009 sucks!!!
Who knew today would be that special?
I just got home from a gig. My cousin’s band, The Wicked Tarsiers, played for the opening of a new cafe here in Bacolod.
Me and my siblings all went to the gig. I was seated really near the stage. Before the band started playing, I realized most of my cousins were there. We declared it another reunion. Everyone was drinking, mingling, and having fun. There were a lot of people there, also, that I haven’t seen in a long time (like Jojo, Monchit, Johann). Basta! Good vibes talaga.
Then, the band started to set up. They started by saying “Tonight is going to be different. This isn’t just another gig. I’ll bet a hundred!”. I looked around, thinking there was some surprise. I saw Jonathan and Paolo’s mom, which isn’t something that would surprise me. I saw Dylan, Krugers son, who’s usually at gigs too. But the whole Lindaya family was there. Boyfriend and girlfriends also. I just knew the surprise was something related to them. I just didn’t know what though.
They played an intro to this song (I forgot the title!!! I’m so bad. But I’ll post the video soon!). Paolo Lindaya, the bassist, was singing, which isn’t something he normally does. I thought that was the surprise.
In the middle of the song, P.L. steps away from the microphone, walks towards his girlfriend, and pulls her towards the middle of the “dance floor”. He gets down on one knee and proposes to her!!!!
Guess what? She said yes!!!!
That was something you don’t see everyday. It was really sweet. People were cheering and crying and congratulating them. Even I was teary eyed.

"I hate it when the bands I like become mainstream"
I’m just quoting a kid i talked to yesterday…
Here is the story:
Last night, before I went to my high school reunion, I had dinner with my parents, sara, my sister and her friends.
There was this kid my sister introduced to me and said:
“Pat, he likes music daw. Ask him what he listens to”.
So I did.
And you know what he said: “Oh, you wouldn’t know them. They’re mostly international, unsigned bands”.
Okay… anyway, I asked him if he listened to any bands from the Philippines and
he said: “Are they any good? I don’t really think there are that many good bands here.”
That’s when I felt like slapping him. Kathy and my parents knew I was pissed.
I just kept quiet. Then said “What? There are alot of bands from here that are extremely talented. I’ll email you a list of bands if you want.”
All he did was shrug his shoulders.
For fun, I asked him if he listened to some of the bands I like, i.e Taking Back Sunday (who doesn’t love them?) , Norma Jean, Deftones, etc
and then he said this: “I don’t listen to mainstream bands. I hate it when the bands I like become mainstream.”
Being the stupid girl that I am I said : “oh, really? cool. I listen to Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift. Are they mainstream too?”
I think he was trying to be cool. But it was stupid. I asked if he wanted to exchange songs or something, he didn’t want to. fine. ska’linti gid.
btw, here’s a REALLY GOOD band from Iloilo. They’re my idols and really good friends. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you POINT CLICK KILL!!
Don't you hate that? Like for all that bad guys who broke your heart, you just want to get over them and to have them out of your life.
